Talks with key federal committee members were fruitful and the introduction of item numbers specifically for teledentistry has been recommended as a matter of priority. We hope these will be introduced within a year.

ViDe Principal Dentist Dr Christine May is delighted to be asked to help advise the ADA on matters regarding teledentistry, after presenting on teledentistry at the recent ADA Congress in Adelaide at the beginning of May.

Discussion with the Department Of Veterans Affairs have indicated they will activate item numbers for claiming of services once the ADA launches them.

This is a huge step towards getting teledentistry services rebatable under private health insurance in Australia.

Lecture presentations at the #ADACongress indicated discussion for the creation of Medicare item numbers for dental to be utilised by NDIS packages is well underway.
